About Our Pet Gates
We sell over 100 different gates in various styles and sizes. Click on any of the products listed on the main dog gates page to read about sizes and product features or, narrow your search by reading information on this page. Any of our gates will fit a typical single doorway. All gates are adjustable for a proper fit. Are you are looking for an inexpensive utilitarian barrier to keep your pet in one room? You might be happy with a baby gate available at your local discount or department store. Generally, they are available for under $50, we don't sell those. The pet barrier gates we sell are designed to last and not be an eyesore in your home. Our gates come with complete setup instructions and many also include the manufacturers website for even more information. We sure hope we can help you pick the right gate the first time but, you do have a full 30 days to return the gate for any reason.
Gate Types
You will see 3 basic types of gates. Free standing, pressure mounted, and wall mounted.
The pressure mounted gate is the most popular. A pressure mounted gate presses against doorways or walls on either side. Gates are width adjustable to fit your opening. Pressure mounted gates feature a walk through swing open door with a latch to keep the gate securely closed. All pressure mount dog gates have a wood or metal bar or plate along the floor that you will need to step over. This piece keeps the gate firmly in place. A pressure mount pet gate does not require drilling so your walls will not be marked up with holes when the gate is removed.
Freestanding gates or indoor pet fences are the most versitile pet barrier. These gates do not require a structure on either side as they are self supporting. A freestanding pet gate has either right angle base legs to keep it sturdy and in place or, no legs and is positioned in a "ZigZag" or"U" pattern. Freestanding gates are also width adjustable. These standalone dog gates come with or without a walk thru swing gate. Indoor pet barriers without a swing gate section, can be stepped over or moved aside to pass through to the other side. The freestanding gate is ideal for situation where you want to move the gate to another area or remove when not in use.
Wall mounted or hardware mounted gates require the included hardware to be installed to the wall or doorway. The retractable dog gate is one such wall mounted gate. This type of pet barrier does not require a support piece along the floor so there is nothing to step over.

Wood or Metal?
Pick which ever matches your home best! Wood gates are available in Cherry, Mahogany, Natural, Oak, painted Black or White. Metal gates are available in White, Black and Mocha finishes. A metal gate might be better for homes with puppies in the chewing phase of life.(they may try to chew a wood gate) Most wood gates are proudly Made in The USA!
